Getting started

4 questions
What is Portfolio?

Portfolio builds a website that shows your work. You choose your profession and one of five templates, add your projects, experience and contact details, and publish the site at your own address, such as yourname.coom.bd.

There is no code to write and no hosting to arrange. The templates look after layout, type and spacing on phones, tablets and computers.

How do I create my portfolio?

Create an account and confirm your email address. A short setup then asks for your profession, a template, your address and a headline, and starts your portfolio with the sections that suit your work.

Fill in those sections in the editor, check the preview at phone, tablet and desktop widths, and publish when you are ready. You can keep editing after you publish.

What if my profession is not listed?

Choose the General Portfolio, which setup offers under “Not listed?”. It starts with a set of sections that suits most kinds of work. If you later pick a profession from the list, you can change it without losing what you have written.

Do I need design skills?

No. Each template is designed to work as it is. You write your text, add images and choose from the colours and fonts the template offers, and the preview shows every change before anyone else sees it.

Templates and design

4 questions
Which templates can I choose from?

There are five templates:

  • Minimal: clean type and plenty of space on a single page. It suits almost any profession.

  • Dark: a single page on a dark background, for work that stands out on black.

  • Agency: separate pages for services, work, team and contact, for companies and studios.

  • Gallery: image-first, with albums and a full-screen viewer, for photographers and visual artists.

  • Resume: a structured CV layout with your experience in date order and a downloadable resume.

During setup, the templates that suit your profession are shown first.

Can I switch templates later?

Yes, as often as you like. Switching never deletes your content. If the new template cannot show a section, the section is kept and comes back when you switch to a template that shows it.

A switch changes your draft only, so your live site stays as it is until you publish.

Is the content in the template demos real?

No. The names, projects, photos and messages in the demos are made up, to show how each template looks when it is full. Nothing from a demo is added to your portfolio.

Will my site work on phones?

Yes. Every template adapts to phones, tablets and computers. The editor’s preview switches between the three widths, so you can check each one before you publish.

Plans and billing

4 questions
Which plans are there?

There are three plans: Free, Pro and Business. Free lets you build and publish a portfolio. Pro and Business add more for people and teams who need it.

The pricing page shows what each plan includes and what it costs.

Can I start for free?

Yes. The Free plan lets you set up and publish a portfolio at yourname.coom.bd without entering payment details. If you need more later, you can move to a paid plan and keep everything you have made.

How will I pay for a paid plan?

Paid plans are not on sale yet. When they are, you will pay through SSLCommerz, a payment gateway used across Bangladesh, and each renewal will come as an invoice that we email to you before your plan ends.

What happens to my portfolio if I change plans?

Nothing you have added is deleted when you change plans or a paid plan ends. If your new plan does not include something you use, such as a template, the app explains what is affected and what you can do about it.

Addresses and publishing

5 questions
What will my site’s address be?

You choose it during setup: yourname.coom.bd, with a name of 3 to 40 characters made of lower-case letters, numbers and hyphens. Each address belongs to one portfolio, and a few names are reserved for the service itself.

Can I change my address?

Yes, in your portfolio’s address settings. Your site moves to the new address at once, and the old one forwards visitors to it for 30 days, so links you have already shared keep working while you update them.

The old address stays with your portfolio, so you can move back to it. Up to three old addresses can forward at the same time.

Can I use my own domain name?

Not yet. Using your own domain, such as yourname.com, is planned for a later release. Until then, your site is at yourname.coom.bd.

When do visitors see my changes?

Only when you publish. The editor saves your changes as a draft, which only you can see in the preview. Publishing makes the draft live.

Every publish is kept, so you can bring back an earlier version of your site. You can also unpublish your site at any time without losing its content.

How do messages from my contact form reach me?

Messages sent through your site’s contact form arrive in the Enquiries inbox in your account. We also email you and show a notice in the app when one arrives, unless you switch those notices off in your notification settings.

The email does not contain the message itself, so what visitors write stays in your inbox. Messages that look like spam go to a separate folder, where they stay for 30 days.

Privacy and security

4 questions
Who can see my portfolio before I publish?

Nobody but you. Your draft and its preview stay private until you publish. After that, visitors see only the published version, and you can ask search engines not to list your site.

How are messages from my visitors protected?

Messages are stored encrypted and are shown only in your inbox. The emails we send about them do not repeat what visitors wrote. We keep a visitor’s IP address only as a one-way code, which helps us stop spam without storing the address itself.

Do you track the visitors to my site?

Your site counts visits without cookies, and nothing it keeps can identify a visitor. We do not add advertising or tracking scripts to your site.

How do I keep my account secure?

Use a password you do not use anywhere else, and turn on two-step verification in your account’s sign-in and security settings, so that signing in also needs a code from an authenticator app. Changing your password signs you out on your other devices.
